ECPS provides ground-based Critical Care Transport services for adult and pediatric patients whose medical needs require advanced monitoring, specialized equipment and a highly trained clinical team during transfer.

ECPS has 18 state-endorsed Critical Care (CC) paramedics who complete additional education, specialty board certification and ongoing didactic and hands-on training, including ICU clinical rotations at partner hospitals in the Front Range. 

Our teams provide safe, coordinated transport between hospitals, specialty centers, and other appropriate care settings, helping ensure continuity of critical care when every moment matters. In 2025, ECPS completed 106 total transports requiring Critical Care paramedics.

All Critical Care Transports are provided with the following capabilities:

• Expanded medication formulary 
• Sapphire IV infusion pumps
• Mechanical ventilation with Hamilton T1 ventilator (10kg limit)
• Non- Invasive ventilation with Hamilton T1 ventilator (10kg limit)
• Heated High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) capabilities (10kg limit)
• EPOC point of care ABG/ VBG, CMP and Hemoglobin/ Hematocrit analysis 
• Invasive line monitoring, including arterial and central venous

ECPS Critical Care Transports can also maintain and transport the following devices:

• Intra-aortic balloon pump
• Impella
• pREBOA
• Transvenous pacemaker
• Chest tubes
