Special Event Support

The image shows two people watching a performance with colorful lighting, in a venue filled with an audience.

Eagle County Paramedic Services is proud to support schools, community organizations and local events when resources allow. Event medical coverage can help organizers prepare for foreseeable medical needs and provide timely care for participants, attendees, and staff.

NOTE: Eagle County Paramedic Services can provide either Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) first response for medical emergencies. This is not the same as a first aid tent; that's not a service we provide.

Because ECPS  is a 911 ambulance service, emergency response remains our first priority. Event coverage is limited and may be unavailable when crews, ambulances or other resources are needed to maintain emergency-service readiness.

Requesting Coverage

All requests for special event medical coverage must be submitted at least six weeks before the event using the form below. Requests submitted fewer than six weeks before an event are unlikely to be approved.

Thank you, your submission has been received.

Submitting a request does not guarantee coverage. Requests received fewer than six weeks before an event may be considered only when staffing and operational capacity allow.

Availability and Priorities

Approval of event coverage depends on available personnel, vehicles and operational conditions. We may be unable to provide coverage when:

  • The requested date conflicts with previously scheduled events
  • Multiple events occur at the same time
  • Staffing is needed to maintain 911 response coverage
  • The event requires resources beyond those reasonably available
  • Weather, emergency activity or other changing conditions affect system readiness

We encourage event organizers to submit requests as early as possible, particularly for large events, recurring programs, tournaments, school athletics and dates with high community demand.

Fees and Community Support

Special event coverage involves fees to cover the cost of personnel, ambulances, medical equipment and supplies. Nonprofit, school, and community organizations may request reduced-rate coverage
