Summary:

Administers basic, advanced and critical care life support to sick and injured persons in the out-of-hospital setting under the direction of the District Medical Director utilizing District patient care guidelines. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Function as a 911 paramedic: assess nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed or need for additional assistance.
  • Function as a critical care paramedic for patients needing that level of care
  • Drive ambulance to and from emergency and non-emergency scenes, assisting with extricating trapped victims as needed, and transporting sick and injured persons to treatment center.
  • Attend critical care roundtable meetings
  • Participate in critical care specific education to include ICU clinical rotations, agency provided critical care skills training and outside training
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience requirements:

REQUIRED: Minimum of four years of experience as a 911 paramedic and at least two years of experience with critical care transport.

Shift Schedule:

Full-time, year round:  Full-time, Year-round 48/96 shift, eligible for benefits. 

Compensation:

  • Compensation: $30.47 - $32.85 hourly (expected annualized salary $99,948.16-$107,759.81)  Overtime opportunities are available based on business needs.
  • Additional Merit Rate: 1%-3%
  • Additional Bi-lingual Merit Rate: 2%
