Chief Financial Officer

Eagle County Paramedic Services seeks a skilled and visionary financial and administrative leader ready to take an award-winning organization into our next era of creative funding, financial strategic planning and administrative excellence.

The ideal candidate will pair their thorough knowledge of healthcare/government/EMS financial services, laws, regulations and requirements with a warm personality that inspires teamwork, open dialogue, and innovation. They will be an intentional leader, someone who sets an example for grace and empathy while holding themselves and others accountable; they should have experience motivating a team of professionals, resolving conflicts, solving problems, and staying calm and productive.

The CFO will help establish the District’s financial vision for the foreseeable future, so it will also be important for them to have a successful history of effective financial planning, proven strategic fiscal prudence and a passion for safeguarding the community’s financial investment in our service. The CFO should ideally have familiarity with other administrative functions such as accounting, IT, HR and marketing/communications in order to lead the capable team to be effective, productive and meet the goals and needs of the District.

Requirements

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field. A MBA, MSF, other advanced degree in finance or a related field or CPA is preferred. Candidates should also have at least eight years of experience in finance, healthcare finance, government finance or closely related field. Prefer at least five years experience as CFO or equivalent, preferably in healthcare, EMS or government.

Experience in and/or knowledge of:

  • Nonprofit accounting, including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting.
  • Current state and national EMS or health care financial trends 
  • Supervision of financial staff and other administrative roles.

English/Spanish bilingual skills are a plus. Candidates must have the ability to obtain a Colorado driver’s license.

The District desires that the CFO live within Eagle County as quickly as possible and requires the CFO be a full-time resident of Eagle County within six (6) months of the start of employment.

Compensation and benefits: 

Eagle County Paramedic Services is offering a salary range of $120,000-$150,000 for this position, dependent upon experience and qualifications. Its comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance with employer HSA contributions; short- and long-term disability; generous vacation and sick leave; and 13 paid holidays. The organization’s retirement includes a 401(a) plan in which employees who contribute at least 6% will receive a 10% employer contribution for the first three years of employment, and 457b retirement benefits with employer contributions.
